Proudly Serving for Over 50 Years!
For over 50 years, Box 414 has been serving members of the
Baltimore City
Fire Department and Police Department. We are best known for its canteen
which responds to major fire and police incidents. Box 414 was incorporated
in 1949 and is named after the fire alarm box which sounded the general alarm
for the Great Baltimore Fire of 1904.
The members staff the canteen 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on
a volunteer basis. In 2001 the coffee wagon responded to approximately 150
incidents including the Howard Street train derailment which required our
service for six straight days. In 2002 we responded to 80 multiple alarm
fires in additions to many police details, parades & funerals.
